More evidence that George Lawson’s 1921 Continental League actually took to the field and opened its season. From the New York Telegram, May 20th, 1921:
2020 Update: The Continental League played games into June, 1921, although it appears most of their contests were exhibitions against local amateurs, rather than inter-league play:
