In Baseball Fiends and Flying Machines, I connected the dots and credited Leech Maskrey with planting the idea in Alfred Lawson’s mind of making a baseball tour to England. Had I had more room for images, I would have included Maskrey’s Old Judge cigarette card:
I can’t put my fingers on the references now, but as I recall, when Maskrey retired from baseball he became an art teacher. The above image is from Find a Grave.
